Flashing software for JDM Subaru Forester XT / Cross Sports

This is a raw test version for reading and writing JDM Subaru Forester XT / Cross Sports ECUs.

As obvious, there is no guarantee in this software, use it at your own risk. I am not responsibility in any way of bricking your ECU or damaging your car

Developed with RomRaider forum users fenugrec as an original author of nisprog and rimwall, starter of modifying nisprog kernels suitable for Subaru world.

General info:

• No, menus not in use, just for show 
• Port selection not in use: in windows, change port to COM67 from device manager, in Linux port is /dev/ttyUSB0.
• When selecting bootloader connection under 'bootloaders' it will automatically change right mcu to device selection, otherwise right mcu must be selected if restarting software and kernel still running.
• With 16-bit ECUs, only Dump ROM is/should be working, no write or compare because it was just testing with OpenECU kernel.
• Other disabled ECUs will also not working and no plans to add those to this as this software was only made for JDM Forester XT / Cross Sports testing.

Usage:

• Under 'bootloaders' select 'Subaru 02 32-bit' to connect JDM Forester XT / Cross Sports bootloader and it will automatically upload kernel.

If kernel upload is succesful, then just select:

• Dump ROM to load ECU content to file
• Compare ROM to compare ROM file vs. ECU content
• Test write ROM to compare ROM file vs. ECU content and test write changed blocks to ECU (basicly a comm test)
• Write ROM to compare ROM file vs. ECU content and write changed blocks to ECU

Software versions:
Windows 7, 32-bit version
Windows 7, 64-bit version
Linux 64-bit version

Linux version needs atleast Qt 5.12.8 version installed (with QtSerialPort).

Hi Miika,

Are these link still available? Have has the lasted release have the Cross sports kernels added to it?

I have got my hands on one of these vehicles to play around with and attempted to read the file but kept getting an error.

6 pin jump connector was connected and ECU was in check mode.
